At the USAT Olympic distance triathlon nationals the following two athletes won a National title.

Steven Smith from Granger Indiana took 1st in the M60-64 winning the National Grand Masters title.
Steph Popelar from Parker, Colorado won her age group W40-44 winning the National Masters title.

The following athletes also placed on the top 10 making them eligeble to represent the USA at the ITU world Championships.
Barb Blakley from Denver Colorado placed 9th W30-34
Debbie Smith from Bellevue Washington placed 9th W35-39
Rick Trachok from Reno Nevada placed 4th M55-59

Other notable results for the month include
Alexandria Lechner from the University of Florida and Clearwater Florida was the overall female winner and the overall Collegiate finisher at the Health First Olympic triathlon in Melbourne Florida.

Elizabeth Grundy from Penning New Jersey won her age group W40-44 at the JerseyMan Half Iron Triathlon in Spruce Run State Park, Clinton, New Jersey

Hollis Gauss from New York, New York won her age group W30-34 at the Central Park Biathlon in New York City, New York

Sunday Clark from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was second overall female at the Savageman Triathlon Olympic distance triathlon at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland

Daniel Snyder from Idaho Falls Idaho, placed 3rd in his age group M18-24 at Ironman Wisconsin and qualified for the 2009 Hawaii Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii.

Jason Jenkins from Kingsport Tennessee was second in his age group M30-34 at the Atomic Man half iron in Atomic Man 1/2 in Lenoir City, Tennessee
