Overview
Boulder Colorado has long been recognized as the best place to train by
long distance athletes all over the world. Coach Luis Vargas will host the Boulder Triathlon Training Camp June 4-6, 2010. For the past five years coach Vargas has hosted training camps in Boulder. This is his first camp for 2010. This camp is a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself into a weekend of all triathlon. Coach Vargas will share his personal experiences as an athlete as well as a coach and co-founder of MarkAllenOnline.com. The camp is a perfect blend of learning with some altitude training in Boulder’s most popular training routes.

The camp will be geared towards athletes training for an Ironman or a Half Ironman. Athletes are expected to be able to ride up to 4 hours and run up to 2 hours comfortably. Campers will learn how to train properly in addition to improving their swim and run technique as well as their bike positioning.
Talks will have an informal feel as they will be done during meals as well as on the field. Training sessions will be done on the most popular Boulder routes including a 4000 ft bike climb to the town of Ward. When it is time to eat we will meet at some of the best local restaurants
and eateries. A lot personal attention will be guaranteed as the camp is limited to 15 athletes.

Luis Vargas Coach Vargas has resided in Boulder for 20 years and is co-founder and coach of MarkAllenOnline.com a
coaching service he established with Ironman World Champion Mark Allen in 2001. He has been a
multisport athlete since his teenage years when he swam and ran cross country
during the same season. Coach Vargas has raced as a triathlon age grouper for 23 years.
In his early 30's he was a member of Team USA at the Olympic distance and finished the Hawaii Ironman 6 times with a PR of 9:34. He took a 10 year break from Ironman racing but in 2006 returned to Kona for his 6th finish in 11:25. He is a USAT Level II certified triathlon
coach and a USA Cycling Certified Coach.

Saturday
7:00am - 12:00am Bike ride to Ward 4000 ft climb, and optional 30 min brick run
12:00am - 1:00am Lunch at Rally Sport
1:00pm - 2:00pm Lecture endurance training, long sessions and bricks
2:00pm - 3:00pm Lecture Heart Rate Training
3:00pm - 4:00pm Run video taping, run form lecture
4:30pm - 6:00pm Swim training session
6:30pm Dinner outing
Sunday
6:00am 7:00am Breakfast at Einstein’s Bagels
7:00am - 8:00am Lecture. Race nutrition and hydration.
9:00am - 10:30am Long run, 1 to 2:00 hour run
11:00am - 12:00pm Lunch and lecture. Training with a Power Meter.
1:00pm - 3:00pm Recovery swim and video stroke analysis
4:00pm Dinner, Open Q&A, wrap up, group photo.

Registration is refundable, less $100, up to 20 days prior to the first day of
the camp. No refunds after 20 days prior to the camp.

Boulder is a vacation destination for many. It is recommended that you arrange
