Mark Allen will be inducted into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame on May 10th, 2012 at the birth place of our sport San Diego, California. As many of you know Mark raced fifteen seasons in the sport from 1892-1996. He completed his career earning a podium finish in 90% of his races and won 66 of the 96 triathlons he entered. Mark won the inaugural ITU Olympic Distance World Championship in 1989 in Avignon, France and then went on a few months later to win his first of six Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Hawaii. Named "Triathlete of the Year" six times by Triathlete Magazine and called "The World's Fittest Man" by Outside magazine, Mark has been considered to be the greatest triathlete of all time. Since retiring from competition, Mark has stayed intimately involved with the sport through the athletes he and Luis Vargas coach at MarkAllenOnline. He is also an award winning author for the book he co-authored with Brant Secunda titled Fit Soul, Fit Body: 9 Keys to a Healthier, Happier You.
